Gin Tasting at Sin Gin – December 1st
Come along to Sin Gin, one of WA’s newest (and recently highly awarded) gin producers at their new home in the Swan Settlers Market in the Swan Valley for a tasting and social meetup
Sin Gin orchestarted the installation of the Tesla HPWC there, and we’re returning the favour by sampling their product!
We’ll meet from around 11am for some tasting – there are plenty of opportunities for lunch and other delicacies at the market, and in the surrounding area – we may also head out to a winery afterwards.
Sin Gin Distillery, 124 Lennard Street, Herne Hill WA 6066

November Casual Meetup – Scarborough
This month’s TOCWA casual meetup is on Wednesday 6th November at The Wild Fig in Scarborough from around 6:30pm.
We’ll park near the Scarborough charger, which is near the swimming pool:
Global Tesla Clubs Summit
We’re here representing WA at the global summit. Report to follow.
Charging from 3-Phase with the Model 3
The Model 3 comes with Tesla’s new second-generation mobile charger. This charger is capable of charging from standard sockets from 2kW up to a maximum of 7kW – however, in Australia, it only comes with tails for 2kw (10A) and 3kW (15A).
We’re working on a tail for Australia which allows you to make use of 32A/3-phase plugs to get the full 7kW that the charger is capable of. These plugs exist at a lot of City of Perth car parks, as well as on the “Round Australia” route.
Of course, we also have a first-generation mobile connector that will allow for 11kW charging on a Model 3 which members can borrow:
v10 is coming
So – Who else got an email being all excited about v10?
Looking at ev-fw.com , 2019.32.11 seems to be in general release now. I also find it interesting that they make a big deal about Spotify – because US cars haven’t had that before – one area where we’re ahead on international cars..
CCS2 Adapter for Model S and X now available
We’ve finally got our hands on the long anticipated CCS Combo 2 adapter in Perth.
As per the information at https://www.tesla.com/en_AU/support/supercharging
- All Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles produced after May 1, 2019 have the technical capability to charge at CCS Combo 2 charging sites with the use of a CCS Combo 2 adapter.
- Owners of older Model S and Model X will require a service retrofit in order to take advantage of CCS Combo 2 charging via adapter – you may schedule a service retrofit at your local Tesla service center via your Tesla mobile app.
- CCS Combo 2 retrofit service will cost $798, including the cost of a CCS Combo 2 adapter ($271 when purchased separately).
